DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE NOTES<br />&gt; Thursday, October 27 Meeting<br />&gt;<br />&gt; Attendees: Susan Stark, Bobbie Heisterkamp, Andrea Mitchell, Marge Fisch, Gordon Butz. Convened at Gordon Butz’s house.<br />&gt;<br />&gt; Discussed the recently announced availability of LWVUS EDUCATION FUND GRANTS for:<br />&gt; 2023 Youth Voter Registration Projects<br />&gt; 2023 New Citizens Voter Registration Projects<br />&gt; 2023 Former and Currently Incarcerated Voter Registration Projects<br />&gt; Suggested that Denver LWV could apply for a grant for the latter. Possible projects could include: printing ballot issues for prisons and formerly incarcerated, Student intern for voter service, purchase of an IPad for voter registration volunteers, signage for voter service activities.<br />&gt; ANNUAL FUNDRAISING LETTER<br />&gt; Bobbie Heisterkamp agreed to write the letter. Will contain info about 2022 election activities from Jeanette and Anne and about the White Paper presented by Sue Stark to LWVUS national convention and other organizations. Will be kept to one page and mailed out the first week of December.<br />&gt; BOOK LECTURE<br />&gt; Kali Fajardo-Anstine, our former office assistant, has agreed to do a reading of her book WOMAN OF LIGHT. Probable date February 18. Jeanette has been in touch with her about this. Gordon will follow up. This will be a fundraiser for Denver League. Perhaps at an afternoon reception with refreshments. Ticket charge of $100 was suggested as well as maybe partnering with other women’s Hispanic groups.<br />&gt; FUND RAISER AT VINTAGE THEATER PRODUCTION OF “”SOPHISTICATED LADIES”<br />&gt; It was decided that we would not pursue this due to other fundraising activities.<br />&gt; The next meeting will be THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17 at 1:00 at the LWVDENVER OFFICE, 1980 Dahlia Street.
