February Voter Newsletter
See the  February Voter newsletter for updates on important issues and concerns of the LWV Denver, Including:
  • Our speakers for the February 15 Program Briefing on the Suncor Oil Refinery;
  • Summary of the January briefing on Reproductive Healthcare and upcoming Colorado legislation (including a reflection on Sarah Weddington who argued the Roe V. Wade case before the US Supreme Court);
  • Response to our concerns about the City's handling of the Denver Decides forums;
  • Detail on the League's 2015 position on justice.  This will be useful as we consider the presentation of the Public Safety committee's work at our April 5 briefing;

  • A tribute to Mary Hess, longtime member of LWV Denver and former staff lobbyist for LWV Colorado.

Consider joining the LWV Denver Board of Directors
It is that time of year again and the Nominating Committee is looking for people willing to join our Board.  We are in need of Co-Directors for the Program Area and the Communications Area.  We also are looking for a Membership Chair and a Unit Organization Chair.  There is also space available on the Board for a person who would like to serve without an area of responsibility.  We would like to encourage newer members who would like to become more involved to consider joining our Board. Want to learn more?  Want to put yourself forward?   Please call Carla Bennett at 303-757-2930 or email her at CarlaSBennett@gmail.com .
