Program Briefing
Denver's Nationally Recognized STAR Program
Tuesday, April 5, 2022, 5:30 PM

Denver has been nationally recognized for innovations in behavioral health boosting the effectiveness of community policing in Denver with the addition of public health strategies:  Chris Richardson, LPC, Mental Health Center of Denver and Carleigh Sailon, LCSW, were instrumental in the design, development, and management of the  Co-responder and STAR programs in Denver.  These programs, in cooperation with the Denver Police Department, provide licensed mental health professionals to respond to mental health emergencies formerly responded to solely by the Denver Police Department.  The DPD and these programs work together to try and assure that the right resources are provided in emergency situations.  Photos of Chris and Carleigh in action are below.
