Bulb Sale Extended Two Weeks - Orders Due June 24

The bulb sale is going well but we are at only about 50% of our goal.  Please email or call your friends and family so that they can take advantage of this opportunity.  The bulbs are shipped directly from the Netherlands each fall and sorted and packaged by League Volunteers.  You can't get these bulbs at the big box stores.

Barb Mattison has designed a nice flyer that you can distribute via email or print for your neighbors.

LWV Position on Gun Safety

Given recent tragedies, we are providing the League Position on Gun Safety.

The League of Women Voters of the United States believes that the proliferation of handguns and semi-automatic assault weapons in the United States is a major health and safety threat to its citizens. The League supports strong federal measures to limit the accessibility and regulate the er of these weapons by private citizens. The League support regulating firearms for consumer safety.  See HERE for more details.

Ballot Issue Researchers Needed
The Voter Service Committee is looking for League members who would be willing to research one or two city ballot issues that might be coming up for the November Ballot.  At this time there are only two issues, but it is expected that City Council will be putting a few measures on the ballot and there are possibly some citizen-initiated measures as well.

Please contact Diane Young if you are willing to take on this task.  We have written procedures for the task, which is usually done during late summer and early September.  No in-person meetings required.  Email
dioyoung@comcast.net or call 303-759-3921 if you have any questions.
