Subject: LWVD - Special Call to Support the League
From: League of Women Voters of Denver

Dear Loyal Members and Friends,

Our activities this election year were visible throughout the Denver area!

  • The Program Committee presented informative briefings on timely topics: The I-70 Corridor Air Pollution Issues; How Can Denver Climb out of its Housing Crisis; Universal Healthcare; Denver’s Basic Income Project; The DPS Foundation’s New Arrivals Fund; and Education in Colorado. All briefings are open to the public.

  • Two Voter Service briefings in October covered all ballot Issues for Leaguers and guests - one for local and one for statewide issues.

  • The Voter Service Committee trained 101 Circulators this year to register voters, attended 90 registration events where they assisted in 751 paper registrations and around 560 online registrations and address corrections.  They estimate they talked about voting and elections with around 3,800 individuals.

  • LWV Denver researched, created and the published 3,600 copies of the Denver Ballot issues booklets (1,000 in Spanish). With 3,000 copies of the LWV Colorado ballot issues booklet (1,000 in Spanish), we delivered them to all of the Denver Public Libraries as well as some Latina organizations.  Both were also available on our website.

  • The 10-member LWV Denver Speaker’s Bureau presented at 23 events on the ten Denver ballot issues.

  • LWV Denver was once again part of the Denver Decides consortium bringing ballot issue and candidate forums through Denver 8 TV.

  • Youth Council members, high school age and older, helped us with voter registration.

  • Our Voter Service Committee provided ballot issue information to the award-winning LWVUS Vote411.org website.

  • LWV Denver publishes a Weekly Update every Thursday and a monthly Voter newsletter.

For those of you who have already sent a donation, we thank you. To help us continue our vital work in the community, please consider sending the League of Women Voters of Denver a tax-deductible contribution (We are a 501(c)(3) with tax identification number 84-0391449). We could not do this valuable work without our members and friends in these challenging times.

Sincerely,
