See You at the Religious Freedom Discussion - Tuesday
 League members, join us next week on February 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church for an exciting and historic event. This will only be in person, not on Zoom.
The League of Women Voters is known for our objective voter service activities, but we have major positions at the local, state, and national levels on which we can lobby various legislative bodies.
It’s been about 10 years since we have actively been involved in the development of a position at the State level. We can do this next week as we hear the LWVCO Religious Freedom Task Force discuss the need for a firm position on the separation of church and state as indicated in the First Amendment to the US Constitution. The League of Women Voters has always been proud of our grass roots approach. Many times, these State positions that we use to lobby our State Legislature become National positions to use at any level = local, state and national.
This task force deserves a lot of credit for the extensive work they have done, which you can read here. Tuesday we will hear of their work in person in anticipation of a consensus vote on a proposed statewide League position. This is open only to members.
It will be a cold night next week, but we need your participation. Coloradoans can deal with the cold. Call a friend to carpool! Come early and meet with some of your fellow Leaguers.
Be a part of this special study and then in March, we will have the same opportunity to participate in a National consensus on the Federal Judiciary.
