WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME
Twenty Leaguers and friends saw this play on Sunday and loved it. We recommend it to anyone who can make time. Tickets are a bargain at $38, but if you use the code DLWV, you will get a discount on each ticket. Go this weekend in Denver or in May in Boulder, but go! For tickets go to the Boulder Ensemble Theater Company website (https://betc.org/event/constitution/). This Friday and Saturday night had tickets available as of last Sunday.

How Can Denver Climb out of our Housing Crisis? Solutions and Possibilities
Tuesday, February 13
5:30 p.m.
Zoom Link
Council President Jamie Torres will speak to us on pathways for Denver residents to attain or retain housing in a time of mounting costs and rising homelessness. The recent influx of the immigration population has further contributed to the housing crisis. In addition to her leadership on this topic in Council, Torres has served on the board of the Denver Housing Authority and was the director of the city’s Office of Immigrant & Refugee Affairs. In office, she has had success advocating for accessory dwelling units in her district.
We look forward to an informative briefing and lively interactions. Please join us.
| How About Holding an Initiative 89 Petition-Signing Party?
LWV Denver and LWV Colorado have trained a number of petition circulators. We can send someone to your book club meeting, house party or congregate housing location to explain Initiative 89 and gather signatures of registered Colorado voters. Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom must collect 184,000 signatures statewide to ensure that Initiative 89 is on our ballots in November, 2024. Please contact Leah Audin (l.audin@comcast.net) or Susan Stark (susanstark1947@gmail.com) to arrange to have a petition circulator come to your event. | Voter Registration Training
For those who have previously been trained as a circulator and would like to register voters again this year, we are planning a special, one-hour training on Thursday, February 15 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. You will need to go through these slides from the Secretary of State office before the training. The plan is to make sure that circulators are knowledgeable about this material and be prepared to answer questions when working with the public. Please let Anne Duncan (anned47@msn.com) know by noon the day of the training if you plan to attend so that you will be registered and can receive training materials.
Two regular training sessions for new circulators will be held on Wednesday, February 21 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 12 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. If you are intersested, please email Anne Duncan at anned47@msn.com by noon the day of the training. You will need to go through these slides from the Secretary of State office before the training.
