WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME

The Denver League has received and accepted an offer from the Boulder Ensemble Theater Company for 20 discounted tickets to their presentation of What the Constitution Means to Me on February 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Savoy Theatre.  The tickets are $25 instead of the regular price of $38.

In 2019, The New York Times hailed Heidi Schreck’s boundary-breaking show as “. . . not just the best play to open on Broadway so far this season but also the most important.” The Times also said, “Schreck is a wonderful comedic actor, and her timely explanation of the intent, flaws and meaning of the Constitution arrived on Broadway at the moment in our nation’s history when we needed it most.” The play received two Tony nominations and was a finalist for a Pulitzer prize as well.

Our tickets (available to League members and their friends and family) are available on a first-come-first-served basis by going to the website and registering and then either sending a check ($25 per ticket) to the League office or by paying online.  On February 4th, you will simply check in at the Savoy and find the best seat available.

For those who wish to join other Leaguers, there is a lounge at the Savoy with snacks and a cash bar.  Some of us plan on being there at 1:30 p.m. before the show to talk about anything of interest.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Marade

January 15, 2024

9:30 - New Time!

Meet us at 9:30 a.m. on the road East of the MLK statue at City Park. Look up for the League sign!  Rather than a march, which is a protest event, the Marade is a celebratory parade born out of protest.  It's been forty years since the holiday was established in Colorado and every year since, Denver has honored the slain leader on or near his January 15th birthday. We Leaguers will walk together about a mile to Civic Center Park where numerous speakers will celebrate Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Let's let our presence show our support for unity, inclusion, equity and diversity.
