Launch Party Coming September 2!
In the lead up to this fall's Midterm Elections, League hopes to build voter confidence, share factual information about voter registration and voting, and support safe and accessible participation in the elections.
To do this we have created a new initiative called Voting is People Power (VIPP). This includes a new webpage to gather information and resources, a card to handout to potential voters (see below), and a presentation to give to community groups.
Now we would like to engage with a wider swath of the voting public through "Conversations About Voting." We are hoping to assemble a group of VIPPers that can take information about voting (and our fervent hope that everyone will vote this fall!) out to Denver communities, especially those with lower voter propensity.
We hope to have pop-up Conversations About Voting in as many places as possible. Working in teams of two, with one of the two being a voter registration circulator, we will set up in community spaces and field questions about voting, hand out the VIPP cards, and register voters.
Would you be willing to join our movement? We will provide training, resources, cards to handout, and a pin to wear.

Federal Court Blocks US Postal Service from Implementing Executive Order Restricting Mail Voting - Nationwide!
A federal court on August 11 issued a preliminary injunction blocking the US Postal Service (USPS) from implementing President Trump’s 2026 executive order restricting mail voting, in a case brought by a coalition of nonpartisan voting rights groups. The suit was filed by the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, the League of Women Voters, Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO), U.S. Vote Foundation, OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates (OCA), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Today’s ruling blocks USPS from implementing Section 3 of the executive order for the November 3 midterm elections and any earlier federal election. The court held unequivocally that “the executive branch has no authority to regulate elections” and recognized that the executive order is currently causing "irreparable harm” to both voting rights groups and voters by creating confusion about the mail ballots that millions of voters rely on.

The Denver Clerk and Reorder's Office will need twice the number of election judges for the upcoming General Election. They will be hiring between 1,000 and 1,200 election judges for a range of roles and time commitments. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- You must be a registered voter in the state of Colorado to work as an election judge.Election judge placements for all roles are made considering political party affiliation balance.
- Per state law, election judges are compensated for their work; there are no voluntary positions.
- All election judges must complete required paperwork for each election and consent to a background check.
- All election judges will require some use of technology for training and personnel matters.
- All election judges are required to attend an orientation session for every election in which they participate.
- All roles require a combination of in-person and online training and must be completed in full for each election.
- All roles require a commitment to work on Election Day, which does demand long hours for most positions.
- Efforts are made to place people based on their preferences for role type, location and availability.
